I am putting together everything I need for a media center style PC but am a bit worried about using my TV as a computer monitor. I Have a 56" HDTV less than 6 months old and I don't want to ruin it. If I use the TV to act as the monitor for web surfing and the other normal things we use our computers for will it leave a permanent imprint on the screen? Thanks in advance for any input or advice.

It shouldn't ruin it as long as you don't run things like tickers or whatnot. For caution you might want to set your
screensaver so it comes on pretty quickly (then again if you watch DVD or something it might get annoying).

Actually, now that I think of it, I don't really know. I wouldn't think that it would harm your TV.

About the screen saver thing windows media player stops the screen saver from coming up. ANd i'm not sure about with a hdtv but on a regular tv you'll be getting crappy resolutions.

Just Vary your usage and don't leave it on a game screen or windows desktop and such. Don't think of it as a Computer Monitor unless its DLP or similar technology, think of it as a display device. I've been using my RPTV for a display for my HTPC for well over a year now with no burn-in at all...just be smart about it.
