computer to computer?

i have a computer with DSL and i was wondering if i can plug a phone line into a phone and into my other computer and still get internet access. or run a wire from my other computer to this one and get it. i dont know. it's probrably illegal or you cant do it at all. could somebody tell me if i can or can not do it? thanks.

It's called Internet Connection Sharing and has been built into Windows since at least Windows 98 prob. Windows 95. Google Windows ICS for (Whatever version of Windows you're running). Easier solution if you got a few bucks is get a Cable/DSL router. And to answer your question NO it is not Illegal.

ok....do i need to download something to this computer and then i can do it? and i think i have a router, Verizon sent me a little box in the mail when i got DSL.
