Computer / System name problem

So I bought a new Air and per standard in China they unpacked in the store, booted up and showed me that all hardware etc was legit and it's working before leaving the store (trust me it's necessary).

Anyway they ran setup assistant for me and basically named my computer/user, i've changed it in system prefs however in file permissions and other places etc the name they chose shows up, how do I _properly_ change computer name/user?

If we're talking about an account name problem, just create a new admin user and then delete the old one. Trying to change the name of an account is more trouble than it's worth.

yea see changing the name under sharing doesn't fix it, I did that earlier and when installing Microsoft office just now the old computer name shows up as default for entering product registration details etc etc...

hmm... if I delete this account everything I've setup and installed under this user so far goes, right? reinstalling would be troublesome...

Damn, really? No easy fix? Annoying... >/
