so a couple days ago, my computer started running super slowly. i first noticed it when i couldn't play my video game (tony hawk's pro skater 4) smoothly. normally it runs perfectly fine on the highest settings, etc., but now it's really choppy, and the hard drive keeps getting accessed.
stuff i tried:
i tried freeing up space (50% free now), defragging, doing virus and adware scans, did a memtest, and backed up my hard drive just in case.. but i still don't know what's wrong. i even did a little spring cleaning in the case.. lots of dusting and rearrangement of cables and whatnot. did a deep disk scan, no bad sectors.
i noticed that my video card is really hot. it's the 9500pro, not overclocked or ANYTHING, just left it stock. i don't know how hot it's supposed to be though. could that be the culprit? an overheating or slightly burnt video card or something? i just touch the "top" of it, on the other side of the fan.. and it's pretty hot, like wow, that's pretty hot.
any help/ideas would be greatly appreciated!!!
