Computer Stutters sometimes

Just recently i noticed that my comp stutters sometimes and i noticed this when play Warcraft3. I have almost all the eye candy turned off except texture quality is at medium. But this problem never occured before until this weekend. I also noticed my comp stutter when my screen saver was running and it slowed down after acouple mins of use.

AMD 1.1GHZ T-bird
512SDRAM
Geforce2 GTS 64MB
WindowsXP Pro

Oh could it be because i have too many programs running in the backround? I have many things in my taskbar running like firewall, daemen tools, mirc, trillian, some kind of weather program that tells me the outside temperature, memturbo and lastly my LCD monitor software.

well here's the skinny again:
1-dl ad-aware and its updating program from the Lavasoft website
2-update def files and run virus check (why not?🙂
3-make sure windows update isn't slowing u down
4-turn off all that stuff that loads up at startup that u don't need
