I'm having two problems that I think are related.
The first is when I'm trying to access directories either on a partition of my main (C: ) drive or when accessing my raided drives (raid 1). Everything will lock up for ~2-5 seconds. During this time I can see the cursor spinning and when it unfreezes everything is fine and i will be int he directory I had clicked into before the freeze.
The second is when playing back videos. The problem occurs when playing back dvd's that have been ripped to my computer. What happens is the video and audio will freeze up for 2-5 seconds, sometimes you can hear the audio stuttering (like it was slowed down by 10x) over the course of the video freeze.
The video freezing problem obviously only happens when I'm watching a video but the computer freezing problem happens approx. every 30 minutes or so when I'm doing things on the computer. I really only notice the freeze up when accessing directories but it could be happening at other times as well (not entirely sure).
I'm using the most recent drivers for all of my hardware as I did a clean install ~2 weeks ago. However, the issues I spoke of before were persistent before the clean install.
Specs: WIndows 7 x64, Gigabyte P35-DS3R, Core 2 Duo 6750, 3 GB RAM, EVGA 8800 GTX.
