Computer stops girl from drowning

$118,000 to do that. :Q

For that kind of money I would expect the pool to drag the person out of the water and do cpr on it's own. 😛

I hope someone says to me "show me where a computer has ever saved someone's life"

"It is virtually impossible for lifeguards to see everything that is happening in the pool all of the time, given the warm, noisy and crowded environment in which they typically work."

Then, you either need more lifeguards, or lifeguards who are paying better attention. Since she needed to be resuscitated 40 seconds after the alarm went off, I'm betting she was in distress for a good minute before the alarm sounded?
