My computer still feels slow for gaming...is it due to the ram or the HD?
I play conservitely @ 800x600 with 32 bit

I also just bought another stick of 128 ram... and it's comming

I WILL NOT AND HAVE NOT INSTALLED THE AMD AGP DRIVERS! I HAD TO REINSTALL WIN2K TWICE CUZ OF THOSE!!

Its most likely the hdd...jumping up to 7200rpms will drastically improve the feel at bootup and loading of programs...The faster the drive speed will increase the access times as well when programs need to keep accessing data on the drive.

What os are you using?

Bumping up the ram was also necessary but should have felt ok at first until you opened up enough programs in multitasking to drain your resources...

Try to shut down as many apps that annoyingly may be running in the background (ie look at systray...)

go to < start> , < run > , " msconfig " , < startup tab > and write down all of the programs that are checked as these are being loaded at startup and may be running in background actively...

Windows 2000, perhaps? I don't know how far improved the drivers are, but Radeon's (and ATI cards in general) have been notorious for not liking windows 2000.

Go to 16 bit on a Radeon? Come on....the performance improvement by going to 16 bit is negligable in most cases, especially at that resolution!

hmmm...i believe u might need to install the AMD AGP gart driver for win2k...should fix your poor 3d performance.

RAM and hdd speed won't affect 3d performance...though i'd still recommend another 128 (u already got that though, right?)
