I recently installed the latest drivers off of nvidia's site (66.93), they caused some problems so I uninstalled them and went back to the 61.77s that I have been using for months. I have a KVM switch and usually start this computer up with the switch turned set to my other computer, now when I start it it defaults to 640x480 (it also lists my monitor as "Default monitor on..." and gives options way up to 2048x1536), but if the KVM is set to that computer it defaults correctly to 1280x1024.
Any clues?

Maybe because it's not detecting a monitor it sets the resolution to the lowest it can to be safe?

It is strange because I have used it fine for the past 5 months but since I switched drivers now it does this.

That's the normal behavior with the monitor type set to Plug&Play. Change that to use the monitor's static .INF description file (as available from its manufacturer), and the driver will be set to use the correct monitor capabilities even if it wasn't connected at boot.
