computer speakers in case

hi, i'm moding a case and would like to install speakers into the case. not one of those pc speakers that gives you the POST beep, but like 3" car speakers or some dismantled computer speakers. the problem with that is that if i use car speakers they won't be powered very much. i suppose i could take appart some computer speakers but i don't wanna spend that money. you guys have any suggestions?

I don't think it's a good idea. Don't need to introduce any more vibrations into the inside of a computer case. Better to think up some clever way to attach a pair to the outside - say suspend a pair of ricey looking ones from a bar across the top of the case, make a Mickey Mouse face and put the spkrs in the ears, etc. And except for some cheap, tinny jobs, you will need some sort of amp to power them. On some older sound cards you could switch the Line Out to a low-powered out by jumpers to use those cheap type, passive speakers. But you don't see that any more.
