Computer speaker / microphone bypass switch

I previously had a set of Klipsch 5.1 computer speakers that were really nice, just a bit overkill. I sold them to a buddy and "downgraded" to a Klipsch Promedia 2.1 system. I like the 2.1s very much, but the one thing I miss is the headphone bypass button on the 5.1 control station. With this button, I could keep the headphones plugged in all the time, and just smack the button when I wanted to go between speaker and headphone mode. With the 2.1s, I have to plug/unplug the headphone for the speakers to bypass the signal to the headphones.

Is there a way I can replicate the switch bypass functionality of the 5.1s using a third-party toggle switch? Anyone know of a manufacturer or product?

Thanks!

I don't know anyone that manufacturers a 3.5 mm stereo selector switch but it would be very easy to make one. Also you could use a A/V selector with the use of a 3.5 mm to RCA adapter

Radioshack sells a device that does exactly this. It's about $10, less if you find one that's going out of business. I have one, it works fine enough.

You could build the same thing for a bit less by buying a 3PDT switch and some 3.5 mm jacks, but this is convenient and pre-packaged.

Only problem I See with that is, depending on how those klipsch's hook up, there may be no way to switch the sub he has if it has its own connection to the computer.

That would be extremely uncommon on 2.1 speakers.
