Computer sluggish after running more than 10 hours

what does that happen??

i am burning my new duron 800 and Pro2-A now

i left it running SETI and RC5 for a whole night

and i felt that the computer is so sluggish after a night running

anyone knows??

This is due to that lovley MocroSoft OS called Windows. After about 5-10 hours playing games or anything that requires some juice runs pretty poorly. To maintain max. performance reboot every 4 hours or so.

hen1028 - sounds like you have a classic memory leak. some little program or driver or probalby some MS .dll is allocating memory and not giving it back to the operating system. Run msconfig and eliminate all non-essential programs. Run this bare system like you normally would and see if the results change. If so you know one of the programs you eliminated is causing your problems.

Sorry 'bout your luck as this is very hard to find.

I've personally been VERY happy with WindowsME for a home OS.

i am running memturbo

it can help to release the memory that is not used anymore

but it still sluggish

i have no such problem with my intel system but for my K6-2 and duron system they became sluggish after long hours running

why is that??
