I just built myself a new computer but I have run into a few problems, when I power it on it will stay on for between 5 and 30 seconds before turning off.

The specs are:

Antec Sonatra II 450 watt ps.
Asus P5LD2 Deluxe mobo
Intel Pentium D 830 - 3.0 ghz
2 - 1gb sticks of kingston pc2 - 4200 533mhz ram
gigabyte x700 pro - gv-rx70p256v-sp
2 - maxtor 160gb serial ata drives

does anyone have any idea what might be cause this? im thinking maybe faulty power supply?
it doesnt matter whether the video card is plugged in, or the memory or hdd's, it will always power off after a few seconds.

Welcome to the forums kaith!:D

Anyways, check all of your wires again. Also reset your cpu and mem. Try a different psu and make sure there isn't a screw or something else causing a short somewhere.

Try those and let us know.
