My cousin is having a problem with his PC and I told him I would check it out. Basically what happens is when you turn the PC on it boots up fine. But about 5 minutes or so after booting up, "Windows is logging off" comes up like it would if you went to shut down your pc in the start menu and it shuts itself off.

Power supply? Motherboard? Virus?

possibley over heating..the computer is sensing an overheat and shuts down to protect from permanent damage. Download a program like CPU-z and run it immediately. If your core temp is getting over the 50C range.. your in dangerous territory. Unless he is running an i7 core... or an overclocked quad...then that is somewhat expected.
