ok so heres the problem, i can start up my computer jus fine then i want to go to play cs and it will load up fine. after i get in the game my comp will shutdown and doesnt close any programs jus shuts off totaly off. it also shuts down when i try to install things. i think it mite b my power supply but i need help from some pros thanx alot guys

If that's just a generic 300watt power supply, then i'd say yes, you definitely need a better power supply now.

I'd pick up a minimun of a 400watt unit or better and NOT generic, only a good branded, high quality unit. If you need suggestions let us know.

🙂

Stop.

You aren't telling us everything.

You mention "this whole computer building thing...".

Did you just recently build this computer?

If so, please list the basic system specifications.

Processor
Motherboard
Ram
Video Card
Hard Drive(s)
Optical Drive(s) *DVD, CD etc*
Power Supply brand and wattage

Could be your cpu is heating up too much.

What are your temps? Or your vga [less likely to be this prob] - what are your temps?

i thought it was the problem to but my cpu temp is at around 40 degrees and cpu dioide at around 125 degrees but it mite b the problem but dont think so

anything in your system that shows up that hot is a problem. 125C is very warm - see what temps are set in the bios for auto shutdown if the cpu temps get too hot.

Raise that temp - but don't set it more that 75C [65C to be on the safe side]

50C whilst sitting there drinking a beer in the shade....

What happens when you jiggle it up and make it go for a sprint?
Its gonna heat up.
