Computer shuts down on Windows boot, no BSOD screen

Hi there,

A friend of mine's computers is being strange. It fails when booting into windows, and I turned off automatic restart on system failure, and no blue screen is showing up. Every now and then it will boot and run for a few minutes before doing the same thing. Tried safe mode, same thing, going to try seeing if it stalls on the same driver or not. I'm suspecting a driver issue, but the no BSOD has me wondering whether or not it's a hardware issue.

Any ideas? Let me know if any other details would be helpful!

Thanks in advance!

I forgot to update, I tried a brand new power supply and the exact behavior was observed. I'm somewhat suspecting the Windows install itself, as it's regularly booting now and then slowing down, and then shutting down completely in a nearly exact time frame each time. Getting ahold of the install disc to see if a installation repair and/or full resinstall fixes it.

Do you have any other advice or diagnostics?

Check the bios settings, try setting to default first and make sure cpu, memory settings are showing up correctly.
