Hello,

I have a new AMD 4000+ based computer and I hv vista installed on it. Today while copying a DVD to my HD suddenly my PC powered off and after that I could not power it on. I waited for some time then switched off my UPS and switched it on after tht power came for around 20 seconds and then again PC switched off. After another 5 mins I repeated the same steps and power came for around 5-7 secs. I checked the UPS and it is working fine cause my monitor is connected through the back of SMPS which inturn is connected to UPS alos music system conected to UPS is getting power. So it is not an UPS issue.

Could some one please suggest me some steps to resolve the issue.

Step one: leave system off
Step two: remove dead PSU
Step three: Purchase good quality PSU

If you give us your full system specs we'll be able to recommend a good replacement PSU.
