The problems started while playing KOTOR2, while playing KOTOR2 ATI's VPU Recover kicked in, once i was kicked out of the game the computer froze up. Ever since then every once in a while i will get artifacts on the screen. I wanted to test my system so I ran Prime95 over night, when i woke up in the morning the computer froze up and I lost the video signal.

Another thing i noticed was reciently while moving the mouse, their was about a 1 inch block following the mouse pointer that looked distored, like artifacts. Right after i saw that the computer locked up, i did a hard restart and got some beeps. The beeps sounded like a car alarm (kind of), de..de.....de..de....de..de (sorry for the less than perfect description).

The video card is a ATI 9800Pro which i bought from ATI, cpu athlon 2500+, 1 GB ram (2x512MB).

Any help would be appreciated,
Matt

Either the video card is dying, the mobo is going bad or the temps are too high. Those are the most likely culprits. Could always be the PSU or the memory. It can be tough to diagnose an issue like this.

Well i found 2 potential problems; first the fan on the video card busted completely off and is laying on the pci card below it. Second the PSU has 2 fans, one inside the tower the other outside the tower. The fan on the outside was not moving until i gave it a little budge and now it is moving extremely slow. I hope my video card is still under warrenty.
