You can usually get most of the stuff cheaper online. The only one I ever went to was a complete waste of time and money.

But here's a free bump anywho.

i agree, its like a rape fee (a.k.a. about 8 bucks) just to get in, and you have no warranty on the products, and really dont even know if it works when you are walking out of there.

i bought a celeron for a good price at one of those, appeared good, but when i plugged it in, no functionality... also, they are prone to lying... i was buying some EDO ram, and this guy was insisting that the stick i was holding in my had was 16mb, when it clearly said right on it that it was 8 mb :-\

Evidently none of you live in the Los Angeles area. There is a computer show at the L.A. Fairplex once a month. Most of the vendors are from the local region with B&M stores or warehouses. Their prices are exceptional and they warranty their merchandise.

What you guys are talking about, evidently, are "traveling" computer shows. Yeah, you're gonna get scammed at those.

You're lucky... it seems that a lot of etailers are from your immediate area. (SoCal) So maybe they show up at your computer shows, where as we get all the local wankers selling junk.

Computer shows are pretty much worthless anymore.
One computer show that still is worth going to is Trenton Computer Fair, although I daresay the outdoor fleamarket and plethora of strange and old electronics is worth more than the "traditional" computer show portion indoors.
This, BTW, is where I picked up my infamous $15 21" Trinitron display.

If you're looking for the newest whiz-bang stuff, though, you're probably better off on line.
But I'd say go to TCF either way :)
