Computer show coming to town.....

I know, I know, these things usually suck. But I think I'll at least walk the floor.

Are there any particular items to look for at these shows that are really better deals than buying from a retailer??

I need to build a couple of VERY economy computers for family, and last time I went to one of these I picked up a $25 asus mobo that will handle slot 1 pII's and first gen celerons. Hopefully will find similar this time.

Well, they dont suck. Unless they are run by some fatcats that are out to get money and thats it.
I live in CT and we have Cogan Fairs around us all the time. Most
of the time you can find whatever you are looking for at prices equal to or less than the posted
pricewatch prices. Which, if you dont know, is pretty damn cheap.

Look for stuff that will cost a lot to ship (cases, monitors). I've only been to one, but it was fun! Actually, the prices at some booths weren't bad either. Old SIMMs were a dime a dozen (well, a few bucks for 8 meg chips).
