I just purchased pieces from Newegg.com (after reading a review of processor prices from anandtech). I first want to say that this is not a slam on Newegg, I just am not sure what to do.

I bought the following parts....

Inwin Mid tower case
Athlon 1.2 GB Thunderbird
Asus with the VIA 133A chipset
ATI All-IN-WONDER RADEON

and added 2 SDRAM 133 chips from Crucial
and a Floppy Drive and 20GB HD (Maxtor)

Well, when I put the pieced together the power LED on the motherboard was on, but when I clicked on the button on the front of the case.... nothing. Any idea what I should track down first?

This isn't the first system I've put together, but the first one to do nothing.

The most obvious thing to check first is the cable from the power switch to the motherboard. Make sure it isnt switched with the one from the reset switch.

Yeah, power switch to motherboard connection is the most obvious. It could be backwards, one pin off, etc.

Sometimes power switch is defective, or one of the wires got loose. The two pins on the motherboard to which the power cable connects are next to one another - briefly short them with a screwdriver, and the motherboard should power on. That's what the power switch does on an ATX board - briefly shorts the two lines.
