Computer running slow all of a sudden

I am upgrading my video card (ati 5870) but I tried to play Arkham Asylum last nite. I was running it at 1680x1050, it played very well. But all of a sudden I cant get over 10fps. Its chugging like an old man running up hill. I recently got ME2 and its having issues and my Geforce 8800GTS is above the min specs but its having issues too. I can still play Dawn of War 2 at decent frames at that resoulution. But I am stumped as to whats causing this. I rechecked my drivers ran driver sweeper and reinstalled but hasnt made a difference. System specs below not sure what the culprit is. Any ideas appreciated as I was planning on moving the 8800 to my kids pc for an upgrade, but if its failing any sure fire tests to run?

Try doing the following:

See if you connected all the power cables needed for the motherboard and video card.

Perform disk check with "automatically fix errors"

Scan for viruses and spyware with either Microsoft Security Essentials or Avast 5.

Check Windows Update
