Computer Retail Sites

Hey

Does anyone know how good the Dell XPS is, or has anyone used this machine because I am thinking about getting one so I would like some help choosing.

Thanks

I checked alienware already and I feel that their systems are overpriced. If I wanted to build a system where is a good site to get parts? Also, I saw a site www.ibuypower.com where you can configure yourr own system.

Yer best bet is to do some research in the general hardware forum, or find one of anand's building guides.

Newegg.com has some cheap stuff. Btw, when we talk about building a system here, we're talking about literally putting pieces together.

That ibuypower website has some decent prices for preconfigured systems, never heard of them before but its been years since I bought a preconfigured system. If you dont think you'll need tech support and are not sure how to configure a PC then a site like that may be the way to go to save a few $$$. Make sure you check sites like resellerratings.com to see what others think before you buy though.

While building a system isn't super-difficult, it is kind of a daunting task for someone who's just starting out. Heck, I've built many computers and it can still be frustrating for me when it won't POST or something.

Do you have any friends who are REALLY into computers? They might be able to help you building your first one. That's how I learned 😀

i got mine from outlet, XPS are good if you dont like building rigs

i used to build them, too lazy now. in fact i dont even use my XPS 600 for anything. just use my XPS 400 for internet and download, etc thats it. i game like once a week. what a waste of a perfect SLI GTX solution 🙁

yo buddy

since u have such experience in building systems all i really need to some guidance on a top motherboard so I can upgrade to the latest hardware easily, top memory, and a top video card.

Quick question: it the pentium betta than AMD, in particular, the new versions that are on the market. I am thinking more AMD right now but I have a pentium using on my present system.
