Computer Restarts Suddenly!!!

Hi,

Recently my computer has been restarting all of a sudden while I am using it. Say I am on Internet Exploror or MS Word and the comp reboots without any warning. This has happened at least thrice in the last 2 weeks.

Anyone has any idea whether it is hardware or a software problem? Could it be linked to the power supply or the memory? I am using a generic 256MB SRAM, ECS K7VZA Board and 800 MHz Duron.

Thanks.

Are you overclocking at all..? If so, don't overclock for the time being and see if the problem goes away..

Okidoki.. I'd start with looking at your RAM.. Can you get your hands on other RAM just to test..? If not, if your 256Mb is 2 sticks then try them each seperately for awhile to see if the problem goes away.. This means that you'll have 128Mb, but it's only to eliminate the "generic" memory as being the problem..
