Don't worry jtusa4,

My company just got bought out so I might have to be looking for a new job. I think I might be overpaid for the market, but I'll enjoy it while it lasts!

Yeah, I guess I should be grateful I have a job in the field, and the benefits are most definitely better than average, but you know how it goes. It feels better to whine about the bad then to think about the good. :D

Dead end sys admin job, $30k a year. When I leave they replace me with another student and the cycle continues. Cheaper than hiring a real admin.

well sorta computer realated since I use one about 60% of the day

I Do video production for a city goverment in northen AZ only make 23K a year but living is cheap up here, I make my own hours, and this is my first real job out of college so a nice low stress way to get more experence for my resume, but as soon as I get a better offer i'm outta here, unless my boss quits then I'd take his job and proubly settle in for 3-5 years, making 50K a year doing not much more than I do now.

how much did you know compared to everyone else in the group when you first started working?

is the job a sweat shop? did you hit the ground and run? or did they give you a few weeks/months to get familiar with the project?

thanks!

yet another Data Center monkey.

35K/year. I build servers, and do necessary hardware/networking troubleshooting to fix the boxes when they go down.

I've been there for a year... I'll probably be getting a raise in January.

edit: oh, and I have a BA's in English Lit and Social Science from Penn State :)
