Computer Recycle Centers in So Cal?

I have some computer junk I need to get rid of... mainly a huge 17in Sony Monitor. Dell and IBM will take it if I pay them to take it, it's too much trouble to find a box, package it up and take it to a UPS center. I doubt Goodwill will take 'em because the components *do not work*.

Are there any places in the So Cal area where I can just take the computer junk for recycle? LMK

be careful, they might "recycle" it by shipping it to a foreign country and then just burn it. i've heard that HP's recycling actually does recycle it, but like the others, you have to pay them.
