Computer rebooting when enabling network connection!

i'm running win2k pro.
i have 2 nics, both dlink. one 10mbit ,the other 100mbit
the 10mbit obtains an ip from my isp. the 100mbit is manually assigned 10.0.0.2

when i enable Lan Connection 1 (the connection associated with the 10mbit card) everything is fine. But then when i enable Lan Connetion 2 (the connnection for the 100mbit card) my computer just reboots. i click "enable" from the dropdown menu and then it just instantly reboots.
any ideas why?
