Computer Reboot loop

I have a few computers that have this same issue. I want to say it is a conflict with the onboard audio and the latest Nvidia Nforce drivers.

The computer runs perfect and once it has booted it is fine. However upon bootup it starts fine, windows logo comes up, and it will either go to the logon screen but more often than not , the screen fades into the Windows XP boot screen and just reboots, it will do this 3-5 times before it sucessfully comes to the logon screen.

It does this on my computer, my parents, and my brothers. However all three systems are all different hardware.

Mine is a Nforce 4, Asus SLI Deluxe, AMD 3200+
others is Abit Nforce2 with 2400+
and Asus A7N8X Deluxe 2500@3200+

All have antec power supplies.

I am wondering if this is a known issue with possibly Nforce, upon formatting one system, it did not seem to mess up until i installed the nforce drivers so thats why i think it is an issue with that. Also SP1 with nforce drivers seemed fine, but until i upgraded to a new copy of WinXP Slipstream SP2 is when i think this started. So my assumption is SP2 and nforce incompatibility possibly? What do you think?

Any help is appreciated :) Im out of ideas, and its hard to run without SP2 now since MS is forcing it on everyone :p

I have had many Nforce boards and have not had this issue. I do know that a lot of people run into problems if they do not install their drivers in the right order though.

Make sure you install the motherboard drivers before you install anything else. Last thing should be the video and sound.

"All have antec power supplies"

-I was unable to overclock, and had horrible problems getting 2 systems stable with an Antec True 430. The common problems were reboot on boot, and reboot randomly. I now have an Antec SmartPower 500 that I love, but it is antec. You could experiment by underclocking the cpus, and trying lower vcores.
