Computer randomly restarts

Out of the blue, since last week, my computer radomly decides to restart itself. This mostly happens when I'm playing a game but the computer has restarted when the it isn't doing anything. When windows loads back up I get no error screens, the computer loads up like normal.
Therefore I'm thinking its most likely a power supply issue and will probably need to go out and buy a new one. Anyone have any other ideas before I spend $80?
Also I have rewired everything in the computer and made sure motherboard wasnt touching the case and I still have the same problem. I checked the temperature of the CPU it is at 30 degrees idle and 35 degrees under stress so thats not a problem.

What does your eventlog say?
Do you have files in c:\windows\minidump with the times and dates of when you've had this problem?

The eventlog shows nothing abnormal and there are no files in the minidump folder. My computer just recently instead of restarting turned off completely. It then turned on but hanged on a black black screen, the LED error lights showed 4 red dots corresponding to a damaged processor. I could not get the computer to turn off so I flipped then power switch in the back to off and then back on. The computer then booted up properly and is working for now. These random restarts or turn offs occur at anytime. Sometimes not at all.
I'm wondering what I should do. The only hardware change was some memory but that was installed 2 months ago and this problem arose last week.

If the hardware's telling you you have a CPU problem, that's probably the first place to look. :)

If the cpu was seated inproperly it first off shouldn't even work. Second no one has touched it or messed with the motherboard and cpu so I don't know how it unseated itself. Although I have noticed higher then normal temperatures. Ahhhhh!!! What the heck I'll replace the cpu onto the motherboard see if that fixes anything.
