System...
ECS K7S5A
Retail 1Gig Duron and fan
LS-120 super disk
Sony 6x dvd
QPS 24X cdrw
WD 60gig 5400rpm HD
Elsa Gladiac GTS 32meg
Promise ATA66 IDE card
256-512 pc133 SDRAM

There are more items but I can't even get the system with this basic setup to do a clean install of win98. I've used the hard drive before in different system using a KT7A-Raid and has worked fine and I have tried to hard drive on both the Promise card and the on board ide and the same problem. Except for the board and cpu the other parts have been used a one time or another in a Super 7 system. I was able to install to this system the first time using a Segate 4.3 ATA 66 before trying to use the WD 60meg.

I can't seem to find anything on the net about problems having to do with lock ups installing windows of any kind so any help will be appriciate. I'm gonna try to do a another fresh install again on the 4.3 Seagate and see what happens.

you could be killing your power supply, try with just the board, ram, video, hard drive, and one cdrom--and see if you can get it installed

After some research I just learned that this board has a problem with both SDRAM slots being filled. Silly huh? Gonna try it with a different stick of ram. Even though I have a 350w ps(generic) I'll try it with just the bare minimal parts as well. The LS120 is my floppy replacement so I have to include it.
