Computer producing strange sounds

Hey guys. So I just woke up this morning and turned on my machine when its started making some pretty crazy sounds. We have construction around our house and I thought it was a tractor in the back but its coming from my computer. Its really loud and sounds like an engine. Besides opening it up and trying to guess whats making the noise are there are other tips or things I should check? Im assuming it could be one of my hard drives but Ive never heard anything like this. Also its coming from the front of the pc. Thanks.

Either the HD is dying, or one of your fans' bearings is shot.

Well if the computer is still booting and you can still access all your files I doubt its the HDD. Could be a shot fan; also check to make sure no cables have gotten in the way of a fan. Had that happen to me and made a similar sound.
