1) Consider whether any of the components need to be reseated or could have been damaged in the work you did.
2) Verify whether the clicking is coming from the hard drive or CD drive.
3) Obtain a diagnostic utility from the hard drive manufacturer and perform a test on the hard drive to check its status.
4) run memtest86 or memtest86+ through at least one complete test cycle to verify the RAM is working properly.
5) perform a system scan for viruses and spyware.

For spyware detection, you can use Microsoft Anti-Spyware or Acronis Privacy Expert.
It is best to install the spyware detection application and then perform the scan in Safe Mode.

i cant even start my computer
i dont know what
i uplugged the cd drive
and still dont do anything
i tried starting it up again
and still i can only get num lock number to get going
so i can rule out that it doesnt even start up
because you should be able to see the caps lock for it
and this is where im confused
i might have to do everything over again, but i have so much on there that i dont want to lose it rite now
so any other suggestions?

try removing or disconnecting all hardware except for the RAM and video card. Remove all PCI cards except the video card, disconnect all external connections except for the mouse and keyboard, disconnect the cd drive and hard drive. Remove and reinstall the video card.

Then try starting the computer to perform a RAM test with memtest.

Check the capacitors on your motherboard for any bulges or leaks that look like the capacitors in this article (Thank you FlyingPenguin)

EDIT:
If that works, then reconnect items one at a time to figure out which component is malfunctioning.

If that does not work, then the problem is either the Power Supply, motherboard, or video card.

alright, so i have no clue
again, DAMMIT
but now when i start my computer up it has a red light
i dont think it even accesses the bios/cmos
which is a problem
any ideas?
it might be my video card, because it says no signal is detected but i dont see any physical problems witht the board or w/ the cards i am using
if i deleted a profile that used the dvi as a second monitor
would this have any affect? i tried plugging the analog to an analog lcd and still nothing came up so i do not think it is that
im so frustrated and have no clue as to what is wrong
i just want my computer back up and running
i am sad. and angry. and wanting to get it back up and running.
