Computer problem...

I was playing Bad Company and my computer froze but I alt-tabbed and it seemed to come out of it. After a while it froze again and I had to do reset it but it froze again on the "Starting Windows" screen.

After messing around, allowing it to do a repair, a few more resets, it would still eventually boot up but still pause for a long time on the "Starting Windows" screen.

It also seems to have lost my E drive. I have 4 1-terabyte hds and one is now missing.

I did a fresh reformat on the C: but it still hangs for a while on the Windows Starting screen and the E: is still missing.... Motherboard?

After the reformat I also have this message from windows7 64 bit, that (I think) it doesn't recognize my video card which is a 8800GTS.. the MB is Striker II, core2 duo 8400e, 4 gigs ram.

I'm thinking motherboard but I guess I should tear it apart, reseat everything...really don't want to do that though.🙁

Weird. Since you're missing a hard drive, I would unplug all of the hard drives, except for the one with the Operating System as a first step. I would then try installing nvidia drivers again. You were saying you just reformatted, meaning you would have deleted all or most of your drivers.

Well I unplugged them all except for C: and it booted up normal...

But this is what happened just before. I was playing bad company again and after a while I got some bad video artifacts then it crashed BSOD. It got tougher and tougher to boot this computer up then finally I couldn't get it even into the bios.

I THEN uplugged all the HD's except for C: and it booted normal.

I wonder if i have a bad Power Supply now or maybe it cooled off in the 5 mins it took me to unplug the drives and then started (if it's a heat issue of some sort) this computer is usually left on 24/7.

Edit: one other thing, when I open the case up, the video card seemed to be sagging. The 8800GTS are very heavey, I wonder if it unseated itself.

Edit 2: Yeah, I just checked by restarting it again and it doesn't hang at all on the Starting Windows screen hmmm...

OCZ 600 watt.

Actually, everything seems fine now. I even have the lost HD back, I reformatted again... It must have been the Video Card (which is a ati 4870 2 gig, not a 8800GTS btw, I made a mistake) but I think it must have slipped out of it's slot, messed up everything.

Everything is working good now.
