I was on the web when I heard a clonk in the case (MicroATX) the computer turned on, I opened the side and found the heat sink and fan hanging from the top of the clip, with the bottom unclipped. I reinstalled the heat sink with new thermal compound and cleared the BIOS by changing the pin for 1 min. I then tried to boot but nothing came on the screen it was blank??

Please help ASAP!!

Sorry wrong forum please can I be moved to Technical Support

30 Seconds if that, I had the BIOS set so if the processor when over 70c it would shutdown.

No Beep codes, but the case does not have a speaker

Did you pull the power cord before resetting the CMOS? The manual says power must be removed from the system.

If that doesn't help, did you reseat the processor? I'm thinking the HS/Fan popping off may have unseated the CPU.

Your post says the system turned on, I assume you mean turned off? With the BIOS set to shut down like that, I can't imagine you hurt anything. I think it's something simple.

Pull the CPU out and clean off the thermal compound. Check the Die on the CPU for any scratches or chips along the edges. If there are any, chances are that you're screwed. I broke the die on my old Athlon XP 2400+ the same way (gave me an excuse to upgrade to 939 though 😉 ).

Yea tried to clear the CMOS not change, reinstalled CPU with new paste, no change.

The system now turns on but shows a blank screen.
