Computer Problem-Regular CPU+Slot A

I have p3 running at 800 MHz, i was wondering if i can put in a Slot A cpu and have it run along side the original 800 MHz. this question might sound dumb. what do i know about computers?
 
Even though the slots resemble each other superficially, slot 1 and slot A are entirely different electronically.
 
so the regular slot is called slot 1? i just want to know if i can use both regular slot and slot A at the same time to boost pc performance,.
 
what you are saying isnt making much sense, i am afraid. and what you want to do cant be done.

slot 1 is for intel's pentium 2 and early pentium 3 processors. slot A is for amd's early athlon line. the two slots are not the same. they are incompatible systems.
