Ok, i just built my own computer for the first time, it includes a athlon 64 3200+, a gigabyte k8n pro mobo, a nvidia fx5600 ultra, a gig of ddr memory, a cdrw/dvd drive,a seagate barricuda 7200 rpm SATA drive, a maxtor 120gb. so the problem is that when i boot up i get a device not found for the SATA drive, but then i try booting off the cd, it goes into the xp setup, i press f6 to install other drivers for my SATA drive, i copy the correct files from the cd to the floppy, and isntall them from the floppy, but then i get an error at the setup is starting windows screen. so you guys, can you please help. ive tried messing with the bios and stuff, tried a new xp cd, and made sure everything was connected properly, but to no avail. so what do you guys think? any suggestions are greatly appreciated. o and i know im posting in the wrong forum but this is the quickest way to get help (the local pc store wanted to charge me 80 bux to look at it...).

what is the error exactly? what does it say on the screen?

are the drivers loading from the floopy disk?
