This guy is somewhat computer savvy, he knows how to most of the basic stuff. He's somewhat of a wise ass who likes to fuck with people doing lil pranks and all. So I decided to get him yesterday. Planning it was easy, took a few hours to put it together though.
I created an mp3 that's a few hours long, in it I put a mixture of weird sounds, long spaces of silence and some recording of me laughing and saying evil shit with filters on my voice so it sounded like some sort of monster. There are spurts with a lot of sound and then 5 minutes with nothing. Then more random sound and laughing and an hour of nothing. The volume's low so it's hard to hear unless you turn your speakers. Just random shit, kind of lame on it's own but I think it turned out good.
I went over to clean up his system, while he was working outside I copied the mp3 to his system. I made a 2nd account, he only had the main one before. I logged on to it installed an alarm on his Winamp and set it to play a playlist which was the mp3 20x the mp3 is about 2 hours on it's own. Then I switched back to his account with the one I made still logged on. So I started the defrag telling him it's going to take a long time and not to abort it. He said fine and that he always leaves it on anyways. The PC is in the same room as his bed, I made sure when I left the speakers were turned up enough for him to just sort of hear it. Leaving I told him as always I would be up playing Poker late as hell so if he decided to stay up until it finished if he had any questions he could call me
so I leave (this is last night) and sure enough around 12:15AM he calls saying he thinks there's a problem he head the PC make a noise, I asked him to describe it he said he wasn't sure because it woke him up The MP3 I made had about 20 secs of sound in the first minute then silence for about 15 minutes. I told him not to worry and we hang up. He calls back in about 5 minutes saying he definitely heard something and it sounded like some sort of laugh, he sounded pretty sure of what he heard, I told him he had to be mistaken, then while on the phone he goes "IT DID IT AGAIN!" He was by the PC this time, he said "it laughed at me what the hell is this!" I stayed on the phone with him until it did it again, he said it laughed and a cough, I knew it had an hour of silence at that point. I told him to let the scan finish and I would come over in the morning and look at it.
He's not dumb, so his idea was just to hit the mute button on his keyboard and go to bed, which was pretty smart but he had no idea it was playing from a different account logged in. He calls me about 45 minutes later freaked out that once again sound was coming out of his speakers "I have it muted!" He ended up turning off the speakers killing my prank. He gets up and turns the speakers on, and as he did he heard heavy breathing and more demonic laughing. He called me waking me up asking to come look at his computer. He sounded nervous. So I went back today and "fixed it" and by fixed it I mean went on the 2nd account, shut off the alarm and set it to go off again, this time tonight at 2AM. I told him I didn't see any problems and his PC is fine. As long as he doesn't reboot before tonight it's golden. I hope he goes to sleep with his speakers on. But when I left there was no more sound and it wouldn't be any until tonight 2AM lol.
sorry for the long ass post, maybe this is a lame prank but he was pretty freaked out lol. He's gotten me in the past with some pretty good ones - payback's a bitch.
