Computer Power Button Doesn't Work Very Well

I have an antec Sonata II case. The MB is an epox 9npa+ultra. Recently, the power button has been very crappy. I have to push it LOTS of times before it actually turns on. Not sure if it might be a connection problem or what. When the computer is on, I have no problems. Very strange. Any help is appreciated.

Maybe the wire is loose at either the connector end or the mobo end. Try shorting the pins on the mobo, if it turns on the first time, then the problem is with the power button.

ugly fix: get a new power button (designed for use in a custom built acrylic case usually) and have it hanging out of your case somewhere
expensive fix: get a new case
difficult/complicated fix: buy a new power button and put it behind the plastic button part (that you actually touch now) that you currently use

sorry for the incoherence on the las one

I'll check. How would I "short" the pins on the mobo though, never done that one before.
