UPDATE********* idea dead in the water :( *********

I just spoke to the serior center, and they decided it was no longer such a great idea to do this....
I still think it is, so for those that wanted to help, I am going to see if any other place in HB needs it.

Ok my local senior center and I are offering computer classes to new, older computer users. One problem, they only have three computers, and it makes the learning slow. We now have 4 computers as I donated my ond Celeron 400 monster ;) .

I am going to dig up some monitors and cases, as not many of you will want to ship those. BUT if you have extra hard-drives, motherboards and processors, and even sticks of RAM that you dont have the slots for after buying all those 128MB sticks. Please let me know if you are interested in donating.

Note, you would have to pay shipping, but ship it pony express, we dont care, as long as it gets here.

It maybe asking alot, but if you don't need it any more, we can make use of it, and it will make you feel good!

We need:

HardDrives 2GB and up. plus extra IDE cables!
Old power supplies.
RAM 16MB 32MB whatever.
Processors, whatever you got.
Motherboards, help us out and send the drivers if you have them.
Cases and Monitors if you can afford to ship them!
Floppies, 3.5 please.
Keyboards and mice, PS2, usb serial whatever.
Anything else you can think of!
Oh yeah old CD-ROM, any speed.

What we plan to do is put the donators names on the outside of the case, ie made by ______ etc.

If you are interested please post in this thread.

I will then post the Senior Center address. I will talk to them to see if there is a way to get a tax break on a donation too.

We thank you!!

Location, Huntington Beach CA.

where are you located? My office tends to dump out older ~100-200Mhz machines with parts now and then. I don't know if there's anything now though.
