Computer Only sees itself on the network

I have been dealing with networks for a long time, i just got Windows NT up on a computer for the office. My 2 home computers are running Windows ME, and I set everthing up here at home. At home, it is able to see everyone on the network and everyone can see it. But once I take it to work, which all computers are using NT, I can't see anyone, and no one can see me. It is currently automatically obtaining an IP address, I played with manual addresses and changing the subnet mask to what the other computers were, but nothing worked. Is there a reason why I can see the computers on my home network, and not the ones on my network at work?? Any help is greatly appreciated.
