About a couple of days ago the power button stopped turning my computer on. If I reach around to the switch on my power supply and turn it off, then turn it back on, my computer will power up without me having to hit the power button at the front. I have a couple of questions concerning this..
Besides the wires coming loose from the motherboard that connect to the power button, what could be causing this to happen?
When I use the switch on the back of the power supply why does my computer turn right on without having to use the button on the front of my machine?
I haven't checked the wire yet (I will) to see if it is connected properly to the motherboard, because I thought that using the switch on the power supply would still require me to power it on via the button on the front.
My system specs are as follows..
OCZ Powerstream 600W PSU
Asus A8N-SLI Premium Mobo
AMD X2 4200+
1GB OCZ PC3700 Ram
nVidia GeForce 7800 GTX
Let me know if there are any other relevant components that need to be listed. Thanks for the help.
