Computer not turning on.

Ok so here is my problem....

I've got my new PC put together, everything seems fine, I've got all my calbes connected were they should be, all my devices in place, all my ****** together, I go to turn on the power supply and the motherboard light powers up, so I assume all is good and well.... Then I go to turn on the PC Power button and nothing happens.

I checked my connectors and they were put on wrong so I put them on right, then go to start it up again and again nothing...

Could it be a PSU problem? My motherboard says its getting power but nothing else turns on.

Could it be Processor related? Nothing turns on but the motherboard light so maybe that could be it.

Anyone know what is wrong/ What I can do?

Its a ASUS P5W DH Deluxe, E6600, XMS2 2GB, OCZ GameXStream 600w.

Please help :sad face:

Well first off no need to create a second thread...
...
But either way...
You have a video card, right...???
Check to make sure your CPU fan is connected...
Make sure you have the second power cord hooked up to the mobo...
The big 24 pin by the RAM
And the small 4 pin one which is in the top left corner of the mobo standing up right...
...
..
.

20, 4, and CPU connectors connected, yes, my CPU fan is connected, and my x1900GT is connected I'm about to turn it back on to see if I get a bios error.

No, no, no, no...
The 20+4 pin goes in together at the same spot and then *another* 4 pin power cable needs to be plugged in...
That one is next to the CPU, just above those heat sinks to the left of the CPU...
...
..
.

Never mind that stuff, its all working now 😀!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know what I did, I pluged the 20+4 back in and the CPU connector and BAM instant working, everything checks out ok so far except 2 things:

1: Does not read my SATA 3.0 Drive (Do I need a master/Slave/Whatever pin in there? I don't see any markings for one nor did I get one)

2: It reads as PC5300 instead of PC6400, I know its a common problem but were in the Bios do I change it?

Glad to see your PC up...!!!
You shouldn't need a slave/master pin for a single SATA drive...
See if the BIOS at least sees the drive...
Probable isn't...
So make sure the sata and power cable are in all the way...
And try it in a different sata port...
...
..
.

How about the ram timings? Is that in the bios or within the OS?

EDIT::: Its only reading the RAM as single channle at PC25300.

Its XMS2 Dual Channel PC26400.

I know sometimes the timings need to be changed (from 5555-12 to 4444-12) would that fix it? I've got the ram in the first two slots (Its got two sets of Black and Orange, its in the first set).

It reads as 2 GIGS (of ram) Btw.

That is in the BIOS...
But I'm not sure where for your mobo...
Shouldn't be to hard to find...
Might need to make sure the Advance options are visible...
Check your mobo manual...
...
..
.

Oooo...
You need to put both sticks in the Orange slots...
But your mobo manual should explain all that...
Check it to make sure...
...
..
.

Ok, thanks, I'm installing windows now so after that I'll go ahead and switch them about.

Thanks for all your help elmer!
