computer not recognizing iomega cd-rw

I recently formatted my computer and tried to install the software that came with my 12x10x32 cdrw. But after I installed it, i can't ever get anything to burn over 1x and even then, it won't finish all the way before some error will happen.
has anyone else come across this problem before?

Yeknomboy - try updating the software that you use w/ your burner... it might solve the issue.

I have a Burner that only works w/ EZ CD Creator... it doesn't work at all w/ NERO ... and it brings up many other problems w/ other burning software... you might want to see if your CDRW is 100 percent compatible w/ the software you are using.

Check the device setting of the CDRW and make sure it's DMA enabled. Also, do not place the CDRW slave or master to a PIO mode device, old CD Roms and Zip drives.
