Computer not receiving video signal, weird beep codes...no boot

I went to start my computer this morning and when it first came on my monitor reported that there was no video signal. This happens once in a blue moon, so i just hit reset. When i did, the computer started making awful beep codes, which are hard to explain, but picture this. beep-BEEP beep-BEEP beep-BEEP. There was still no video signal at this point, and the only way to shut the computer off was by pulling the plug.
The computer ran fine all day yesterday and shut off fine last night.
I have not had the cover off in months, no recent upgrades, or major new tweaks or software installations either.
Check the sig for system specs.
Award bios.

It sounds to me like you are back to the basics. Unplug, remove, disconnect everything but the essentials; CPU, video card, and RAM. Clear the CMOS memory after first unplugging the power supply and give it another try. If it posts, reinstall everything one part at a time until you find the miscreant.

Is it more like beep-beep........beep-beep-beep-beep?

Try re-seating your video card first and while you're in there take a look and see if your video card's fan is still working or making funny noises.

Well, things are NOT looking good.
I took out the video card, tried another one. Tried new memory. Tried reseating the CPU. I *think* i cleared the CMOS, but it is hard to tell since nothing shows up on the monitor.
The noise that the PC speaker is making is more of a alternating sequence of 2 different frequencies. Sounds more like an alarm than a beep code.
I just tried booting the machine without the processor seated, and I do not get the beep, nor anything else on the screen (obviously). Woud it still make the alarm without the processor?

What else is there left to test?
I think i may try a PCI video card, maybe the AGP bus died or something.

When the machine boots, you can tell the monitor gets no signal because the light is amber, and does not switch to green.

Alternating tone beeps like a European police car are indications that something is out of tolerance such as a voltage or a fan speed in the hardware monitoring section of the BIOS. Because this much works it is a good sign. Make sure the fans are turning up to speed and try a different power supply.

Thanks for the replies guys. Unfortunately I do not have another power supply or motherboad to test this with. I think what I will end up doing is buying a new case (wanted one anyway), motherboard, processor and ram, and just use this as an excuse to upgrade, since it is just about time anyway.
