Ok, get ready for a mouthful:

I have a server, consisting of a P4 2.8Ghz E Prescott (800FSB) CPU with an Abit VT7 motherboard, with 2 120GB WD Drives in RAID 1 (mirror). The other day, I noticed the computer 'beeping' (when the Temperature gets warm Im assuming). The computer was not responding when I would try to connect to it via Terminal Services, so I shut it off, and turned it back on. Everything came back on.

About 3 hours later, the power suddenly went out in this area, once power came back, I turned the machine back on and realized that the RAID array had to be rebuilt, so I rebuilt the array, and then when it tried booting into Windows 2003 server, it would show a black screen (no signal) after showing the Windows 2003 logo and then when it *should* display the "Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to login" screen. I tried going to safe mode, but sometimes it would go and sometimes it wouldn't.

One or two other times (while I successfully got into safe mode), the temperature monitor would beep, so I thought the CPU fan/heatsink wasnt working properly, so I used my compressed air device to blow off all the dust, put the fan back on, but the lever that locks the fan in place broke, so I tried locking the fan on without the lever, turned on the machine, and I noticed a burning smell after about 10 seconds. Thinking it was the CPU overheating, I quickly shut off the PC and saw the CPU was VERY hot.

I fixed the CPU fan and re-installed it on the CPU (locked it in place with the levers and everything), but now the computer does not POST at all. I thought it might be the power supply, but when I turn on the PC, the PSU fan spins, the CPU fan spins, and I hear my 2 HD's spinning up as well.

I tried taking out the RAM and/or the videocard to see if the motherboard 'beeps', and it does not beep at all either, so I am not sure if the problem lies in the motherboard, the CPU, or both?

Any help to diagnose this would be tremendously appreciated. Thanks.

Is your motherboard hosting the raid or do you have an independent raid card? Did you not mind having to rebuild the system? How old is the motherboard? Would you consider bulleting the issues you're having with this system because it seems like there are quite a few.
