computer management Shared folders/sessions IP and computer name?

When trying to match up which user is logged into which pc I generally go to the computer managemnet console and browse the active sessions.

Over time it seems like the computer names have gone away and IP addresses have taken their place. It's now about 50/50 mix of IPs and names? What is causing the IPs to show up instead of names?
