Computer LoJack

Is there anything you can do to track a stolen computer? My Dad's office has been broken into 3 times and each time the computer was stolen. We are trying to find some type of hardware that will allow you to trace the machine. Software evidently gets erased when they format the drive.

When my son was born they attached a security device to his cord clamp. It was a baby lojack. If you got in the elevator or the stairwell with the kid, the entire hospital locked down and knew about it. It could pinpoint the location of the baby and whose baby it was. The device was no bigger than a case badge. Contact lojack and see if they may have something like that.

Look at Computrace. It's software-based, but they claim it survives format, Fdisk, and repartitioning.

while not specifically for computers, I'm sure you could find something that would work. For example, some company is coming out with bracelets so you can track your kids using GPS...just stick one of those inside
