DFI K6XV3+ (k6-2 450) (latest bios)
Linksys LNE100TX rev 4.1
netgear NIC
The computer freezes(mouse and keyboard don't operate either) when the little bubble pops up that it recognizes the card while in windows. Then I reboot, and it freezes at the screen with the blue line going across the screen. It does this with both network cards when they're inserted by themselves. The only other component in the system is a diamond stealth 3 s540 pci video card.
The cards work ok in xp in my other system(duron 800).
Would the pci video card have anything to do with it? I've had this video card in another system with the linksys, and they worked fine together in many different operating systems.
Should I try 98se? I booted into 98se(on old hd) and it recognized the nic just fine, I just don't have my cd anymore to install the networking.
I'm thinking it's a mb problem, because everything else has worked in xp. Are older motherboards not suited for networking in xp for some reason? I have the machine up and running 100% stable with just a video card. It's been crunching seti for a week now.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
