Computer locks up using phoneline kit....Help!!!!

Here is my problem:
I am trying to network my computer ( Athlon 800, FIC-AZ11E mobo-VIA KT133 chipset, 256mb ram, Linksys ethernet card for cable internet, Win XP. My comp is the internet comp.) with my wife`s computer (K6-2 500, PC Chips all integrated mobo, 256mb ram, Win XP). I am using the Diamond homefree 10mbps phoneline kit to do this. I install the card into my system, and XP finds and installs the drivers, no problem. But after a minute...5 min...10 minutes...randomly will lock my system up forcing a reboot. My wifes comp does not have this problem, hers runs rock solid after installing the card.
I have tried new VIA 4 in 1 drivers, Diamond win 2k drivers, changing the interent connection form PCI to USB, moving the phoneline card to different slots in the mobo, all to no avail.

any ideas?......please???

Thanks in advance
