Computer locks up and then clicks...

I'm not really good with wording stuff so just ask if I don't make sense. Alright well recently my PC has been having this problem were I open things and my PC kinda locks up for a sec and then I hear a click. Now I thought it might have been a HDD problem but I don't think it is because I RMA'ed MY HDD.

Now when my PC locks up I'm still able to move my mouse and click on other things but the program I will be using is the only one that locks up, for example, when watching a movie and it freezes the movie will just stop then speed up to the spot it was supposed to be at. So thanks in advance for trying to help me and I will answer any questions.

Are you watching the movie from DVD/Bluray or ISO image on the computer? If disc I would investigate the disc drive and/or the disc. Is the disc scratched? Does it always happen at the same spot in the movie? How does the disc play on an actual DVD/Bluray player?

If you suspect some hard drive failure, back up your data immediately.

Once you have done the backup, you can investigate the hard drive itself using SMART diagnostic software (like SpeedFan) or Seagate's own diagnostic software.

Yea I used seagate software the first time and it said my drive was bad so I RMA'ed it and got a new drive. As for the movies I watch them off my HDD mainly but its not just movies its other things as well
